Basically they are a RAW audio format that requires a media software application capable of accessing this type of CDR file. The data originates from an Event Data Recorder device which is installed in automobiles. CDR files which are created with Apple Final Cut Pro are backup file types that contain an exact copy of data from another resource.
What is a CDR file?
The purpose of this type of CDR file is to create an image of the data for the purpose of backup, storage, and restoration if needed. If you are unsure about what program created the CDR file, double click on the file to see if it automatically opens in a default application. Depending upon the CDR file type, you may have a program installed on your PC that is capable of reading the file. If the CDR files are created by Bosch Crash Data Retrieval, the files are generated as the result of crash sensors built into an automobile. The only way to open these files is by using Bosch Crash Data Retrieval System Software which is compatible with the Windows operating system.

I think Illustrator will import CDR files natively. Otherwise you can save them as EPS from Corel and most drawing programs should be able to read them. Graphics Snobbery.
