Changing the Format of the Page Numbers Some organizations require the page numbers to be displayed in a certain format. Here's how to change the format of the page numbers in your Microsoft Word document: Open your Microsoft Word document, if it is not already open. The Page Numbers window appears. Click Format.
Add a page break in Word for Mac
The Page Number Format window appears, as shown below. Click View in the toolbar , choose Show Page Thumbnails, select the page thumbnail, then press Delete. Select the text and objects you want to delete, then press Delete until the page is cleared.
You can also delete a section by selecting it in the thumbnail view, then pressing Delete. Click View in the toolbar , choose Show Page Thumbnails, select the page or section thumbnail, then drag it to where you want it in the page hierarchy. You can drag an individual page in a word-processing document if the page is its own section.
